Education

At Dumbshow, we are keen to engage young people, families and the community with the power of stories and the enjoyment of performing. We want to help our audiences get closer to the work we create.

Within the company we have a range of experienced CRB checked practitioners, qualified teachers, accomplished workshop leaders, and trained actors and directors running our educational activity making it fun, energising and inspiring.

Our Autumn 2012 tour of Clockheart Boy was supplemented with a variety of educational activity, from workshops to meet and greets.

Production Workshops

We can offer sessions that will introduce children and young adults to the characters and themes that they will encounter when watching our shows. Through games and short exercises, they will engage their imaginations, learn drama skills and interact with members of the company.

We are also able to offer bespoke devising and writing workshops for young people. If you would like to book a workshop for your venue or school, please contact Hester at education@dumbshow.org.

Meet and Greets

Taking place in the auditorium directly after the show, meet and greets offer families the chance to meet the cast and ask questions about the show they’ve just seen. Lasting around 15 minutes, a meet and greet can be hosted by members of the company.

To book a meet and greet for your venue or school, please contact Hester at education@dumbshow.org.

Invitation Tickets

Dumbshow were proud to offer invitation tickets for Clockheart Boy’s 2012 tour to help engage with families and groups who may have difficulty accessing theatre. If you are interested in this scheme for our future productions and would like to talk to us further, please contact Hester at education@dumbshow.org.
