Company
Dumbshow makes high-quality story based theatre.
We create theatre that explores the human condition and asks questions about the world through telling stories.
We make work with passion and a sense of mischief; we want to make you laugh and make you cry.
Our shows are both challenging and accessible.
We make work that is both well written and visually exciting.
We want to make our audiences feel more alive through watching our work.

Dumbshow is an ensemble theatre company, formed in Warwick in 2006 by artistic director Michael Bryher. Bryher has been an assistant director to Peter Brook, and worked with companies including Kneehigh, dreamthinkspeak and the RSC. Dumbshow has been working together for over 6 years, and our ensemble dynamic is a central part of the way we create work and perform.
Dumbshow’s previous productions have toured across the UK, from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to venues including the Lyric Hammersmith, Manchester Royal Exchange, the Lowry, the Egg in Bath, Warwick Arts Centre, and Kingston’s Rose Theatre.
