We produce big, accessible, and vibrant theatre; creating shows that immerse you in another world and devising plays that have something to say. We give our audiences an exciting collective experience, whilst keeping the value of the story at the centre of our work.

We are an ensemble theatre company; comprised of a dynamic and ambitious troupe of actors, directors, writers and musicians. The company was formed in 2006 by artistic director, Michael Bryher.

We always start with a story that we want to tell. A story that ignites something in us – that tickles us or enrages us. Whether it be because of a place, a character, an idea; it must feel important and relevant. We want to explore the world we live in through theatre that is both dramatic and light, dark and comic, tiny and epic.

The experience lies in the telling; a telling that is mischievous, expressive and illuminating. The audience are at the heart of our plays. We want you to experience the stories we tell in a visceral, emotional way. We often create worlds that our audiences can exist in alongside the actors and musicians. We “break the fourth wall” not to challenge or scare our audiences, but to involve them in the experience of the story’s unfolding. Our shows are sometimes unpredictable but always fizzing with passion and vagaries of life.

We aim to bring together the art of highly accomplished traditional theatre – where you buy a ticket, sit down and (largely) just watch, with a more anarchically expressive, colourful innovative style of performance.
